Date Update

So, I know you are ALL dying to know how my date went. :o )

It was awesome. He was a perfect gentleman and unbelievably cute!!!

We met for dinner at Granite City where I had the BEST grilled salmon, rice pilaf, and asparagus. I’m pretty proud of myself for ordering something healthy. Go me!

The conversation at dinner was wonderful and there weren’t any awkward silences. Which is always a good thing! We tried each other’s dinner. His was this delicious chicken tortellini with tomato pesto sauce. Yum!

After sitting at the restaurant for 2 hours we headed to a bar we both enjoy. We were sitting at a booth and I was getting ready to take a drink of my vodka and lemonade, when I dropped the whole drink down the front of me. (No I wasn’t drunk) Talk about embarrassing! Haha. I just laughed it off and he kept asking if I was okay. He thought I was going to cry, which I was because I was laughing so hard!

I’m a total klutz!! Haha. I didn’t let it ruin the night though. After another drink, which I didn’t spill on me, we headed to the river to sit in his jeep and listen to music while chatting.

Finally the cops came and kicked us out of the park at 11:30. We’re badasses. Haha.

The night ended with a hug and talks of a 2nd date.

Pros: He called me cute and hot on a couple of occasions. He has the cutest smirk. He opened the car door for me. He dressed really well. He was friggin hot!!

Cons: Me spilling my drink on myself. Us getting kicked out of the park.

It was really an awesome date and I cannot wait to see him again. Which may even be tonight.

I’m thinking glow golf….thoughts?

There’s your date recap! Hehe. Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement! You all rock!!

FLF: No Doubt!

Sorry I didn’t get this up yesterday. I totally forgot. I should really set a reminder in my BlackBerry. Lol

I love the band No Doubt. A LOT! They really are my all time favorite band.

I can remember the exact moment I first heard them. It was on the playground and a boy in my class had his CD walkman. I asked him what he was listening to and he said No Doubt and handed me the headphones.

It really was love at first listen. I begged my parents for the Tragic Kingdom cd for Christmas and when I opened it up that morning, we listened to it while opening presents.

Listening to that CD floods me with memories of Baby Soft perfume, singing in the mirror, and watching MTV for hours hoping to catch the video for ‘Don’t Speak’. My best friend at the time and I became obsessed with Gwen Stefani and wanted to be like her. We had read in a magazine that Gwen had stickers saying ‘Whatever’ and ‘As If’ on her makeup case, so we quickly printed off our own versions and taped them all over our desks. We even had the same No Doubt poster in our bedrooms. Ya, we were fans. Haha.

My love for them never stopped. I made sure to buy all their CDs and patiently waited for them to go on tour.

My tour dreams were met last July. As soon as I heard they were going on tour, I KNEW I had to get tickets. So, my sister and I drove several hours to see my all time favorite band in concert. I had only been waiting 13yrs for this to happen.

We were in the very last row at the venue, but I didn’t care. I was there and would soon see Gwen, Tony, Adrian, and Tom in concert.

When they came on stage, I cried. This band meant more to me than any other band I had ever heard. They were there through good times, heartbreaks, and so many memories.

It was the best concert I’ve ever been too. And they’re currently working on a new CD. So my chances to see them again are highly likely. Woot!

So, that’s what I love! If you haven’t listened to them, go do so NOW!
