Why I Love This Community…

If you’re a fitness or weight loss blogger, you know how awesome this community can be. It was made quite apparent last week at Fitblogginwhen there were a lot of hugs and kind words going around. We understand each other. We know what it is like to fall off the wagon, what it is like to have an injury that can hold us back, how awesome it is to hit a weight loss milestone, and how crappy it is when we have a gain.

All you have to do is blog, Facebook, or Tweet about it and you’ll get a response from someone or multiple someones who know exactly what you’re going through.

Last night I sent out one of those tweets. Yesterday I got my first mean comment. I’ve been blogging almost two years without one, but I knew it was bound to happen. I mean, haters gonna hate.

Basically the comment boils down to that I’m not a fit blogger and no one likes a fat bride. Whatever dude….

So, I sent out a tweet that said:

Well I just got my first ever hateful comment on my blog. Thanks ‘paul’. Apparently no one loves a fat bride, good thing I’m not fat! :)

I was quickly tweeted back with awesome comments!

Kenz (@alltheweigh) Uh…you’re adorable, and you’re going to make a beautiful bride!

Renee (@pinkypie) jesus seriously?? WTF is wrong with people??? You are BEAUTIFUL now, before &surely in your future.

Paula (@paulylagordita) you are gorgeous my dear!

Brenda (@longdoglover) what a jerk. But nasty comments always hurt. As I said. Jerk. Hugs to you

Liz (@elizawhat) Print it out and frame it; you know you’ve made it when you’ve got trolls.

Shauna (@shauna sorry to hear about the comment, BOO! :( some real fuckwits out there.

Not to mention the countless awesome comments on Facebook. A lot of nice things have been said. And it has taken a cruddy situation and turned it into a better one.

I’m not going to lie, the comment stung at first. But then I realize that that person is obviously just unhappy in their own life. And quite frankly, if you don’t like what I post about, don’t read me. But that’s not the point of this post.

The point is that this community ROCKS! And I’m so glad that I’m a part of it and you have all welcomed me with open arms. If you’re a part of it, you know what I mean. We’re all understanding and are always there to offer support where needed.

Thanks for all the awesome feedback you’ve given me over the last couple of years!

Last Night….Today….Tomorrow

Last night….

B-Fry and I got some Chinese.

Got the ingredients to make a yummy dessert.

Came home and were in our pajamas by 6:30.

Made delicious crepes stuffed with Nutella, marshmallow fluff, and graham crackers. It was smore heaven.

Laughed while we enjoyed Get Him To The Greek.

Were in bed by midnight.

Was perfect. :)

Today:

I’m taking a break from all social networking.

I don’t want to get out of my pajamas.

I’m going to hit up the grocery store….again

I’m going to make a hopefully delicious macaroni salad.

Figure out what to get my dad for his birthday.

Enjoy my family at my dad’s birthday get together.

Tomorrow:

Take another day off from social networking.

I’ll probably hit up the grocery store again for real grocery shopping.

I’ll meet more of B-Fry’s family.

I’ll get a workout in.

I’ll relax before having to return to work.

What does your weekend look like?

Social Networking Fasting and The 30 Day Journal Challenge

There’s been a lot of talk around the blogosphere about unplugging and living life. I’ve been thinking of doing it myself and have even put a goal on My Bucket List.

That goal?

Give Up Twitter And Facebook For One Week!!

Starting at Midnight tonight, I will be doing just that. I’m deleting the apps off my BlackBerry to get rid of the temptation at my fingertips. And since I don’t have a computer, I won’t need to worry about that temptation.

Is this something I’m excited about doing? Maybe. I do think I way too addicted to Twitter and taking a break will do me good. I’m not as addicted to Facebook, so that one should be fairly easy.

My blog will still update my Twitter feed when I post something new, but that’s the only activity you shall see for a week.

If you need to contact me in the meantime feel free to email me: bablovestwloha [at] hotmail [dot] com

Now on to this new challenge!

I don’t know how I stumbled upon this blog, but I’m glad I did.

Janel is hosting a 30 Day Journal Challenge. She’s posting writing prompts every day for 30 days for you to write about.

I love journalling and have rediscovered my love for writing, so this challenge is perfect!

Today is the first day of the challenge and as soon as I make it to the store to buy a new journal (I have a note book addiction), I’m going to get started!

The first prompt can be found HERE!

Come join me!

14hrs and 45mins until my Twitter and Facebook fasting begins! Wish me luck!
