Why I Love This Community…

If you’re a fitness or weight loss blogger, you know how awesome this community can be. It was made quite apparent last week at Fitblogginwhen there were a lot of hugs and kind words going around. We understand each other. We know what it is like to fall off the wagon, what it is like to have an injury that can hold us back, how awesome it is to hit a weight loss milestone, and how crappy it is when we have a gain.

All you have to do is blog, Facebook, or Tweet about it and you’ll get a response from someone or multiple someones who know exactly what you’re going through.

Last night I sent out one of those tweets. Yesterday I got my first mean comment. I’ve been blogging almost two years without one, but I knew it was bound to happen. I mean, haters gonna hate.

Basically the comment boils down to that I’m not a fit blogger and no one likes a fat bride. Whatever dude….

So, I sent out a tweet that said:

Well I just got my first ever hateful comment on my blog. Thanks ‘paul’. Apparently no one loves a fat bride, good thing I’m not fat! :)

I was quickly tweeted back with awesome comments!

Kenz (@alltheweigh) Uh…you’re adorable, and you’re going to make a beautiful bride!

Renee (@pinkypie) jesus seriously?? WTF is wrong with people??? You are BEAUTIFUL now, before &surely in your future.

Paula (@paulylagordita) you are gorgeous my dear!

Brenda (@longdoglover) what a jerk. But nasty comments always hurt. As I said. Jerk. Hugs to you

Liz (@elizawhat) Print it out and frame it; you know you’ve made it when you’ve got trolls.

Shauna (@shauna sorry to hear about the comment, BOO! :( some real fuckwits out there.

Not to mention the countless awesome comments on Facebook. A lot of nice things have been said. And it has taken a cruddy situation and turned it into a better one.

I’m not going to lie, the comment stung at first. But then I realize that that person is obviously just unhappy in their own life. And quite frankly, if you don’t like what I post about, don’t read me. But that’s not the point of this post.

The point is that this community ROCKS! And I’m so glad that I’m a part of it and you have all welcomed me with open arms. If you’re a part of it, you know what I mean. We’re all understanding and are always there to offer support where needed.

Thanks for all the awesome feedback you’ve given me over the last couple of years!

Some Things Are Just Meant To Be

I missed a weekly weigh in post again. I gained .8 this past week. I’m assuming it is from the amount of sodium I consumed the Wednesday before my weigh in. I had a pretty good week on plan, not the best, but better than it has been.

This week is going awesomely well so far! I’ve measured and tracked every single thing that has entered my mouth. And I’ve worked out the last two days in a row. So go me!! I’m planning on continuing this trend because it is feeling pretty amazing. :)

You all know that I’m completely and utterly in love with B-Fry. And if you don’t know, then you must be living under a rock! Haha. He’s all kinds of wonderful and my life is complete with him in it. We’ve said for many months now that we are meant to be. We click so well together and in the almost 8 months we have been together we’ve spent pretty much every day together. How could you not want to spend all your time with someone who makes you feel absolutely beautiful, loved, and incredibly happy?

Well, the other day I got crazy proof that we’re meant to be. The kind of proof that sent chills down my spine and gave me goosebumps. The proof came in a list.

I’ve never really been the type of girl to think about what I wanted in a future husband. Honestly, I questioned if I would ever get married due to my size. So, it just wasn’t something I thought about it.

Well, I was watching some talk show and a lady was talking about how she made a list of what she wanted in a future mate. She started dating someone and at some point in the relationship she stumbled upon that list and was surprised to find that her mate fit everything on that list. I was a little bit skeptical, but thought “What could it hurt?”

So I made a list. I stumbled upon that list on Sunday, read it and chills ensued. B-Fry fit the list perfectly. I showed him the list, he really couldn’t believe it either. I put the list on a stack of papers and we went to B-Fry’s hockey games.

When we came home, I pulled out the list again and noticed in the corner there was a date written. The date was 7/17/09.

Now this is where it gets kinda freaky…

B-Fry and I became official EXACTLY one year later on 7/17/10!!!

Got chills yet?

If that doesn’t prove that we’re meant to be, I don’t know what does. I never would have thought that I would find everything I wanted in one man, but I did and I couldn’t be happier.

I’m sure you’re all dying to know what’s on the list. So here you go:

Weekly Weigh In: Thankful Edition

Starting Weight: 327.6
Current Weight: 206.8
Last Week: 208
Loss/Gain: -1.2
Total Loss: 120.8lbs

Yay for losing the weight I gained last week and then some! I had a really AWESOME week!!

Saturday B-Fry and I went out for our 4-month anniversary. We went to dinner at Lemongrass Café, which serves delicious Thai food. I had Rama with tofu. It was flippin delicious! It had a peanut sauce that had a little bit of heat to it. Something I would totally have again! After dinner we went to Fireworks and painted pottery. B-Fry being the artist he is got uber creative and sketched a tree on his plate and I being the horrible drawer simplest did a bowl with a heart, polka dots, and stars. It was a lot of fun and something out of the ordinary for us. I’m sure will be doing it again. Then after all that it was off to our favorite bar, Bent River. They were serving $3.00 hurricanes, so I couldn’t pass those up. Lol. After a couple of those, B-Fry and I decided to do a shot. So, we did a shot of Crown Royale to “4 months and many more years.” Haha. It was a really good night.

Our Pottery!

Sunday night my best friend, Jenny and her husband, Matt were in town from Seattle. So, we all headed down to Bent River again and had a couple of beers. It was great seeing them and catching up!

Jenny and I

So my weekend was awesome, but Monday may have been just a smidge better…..

Wanna know why?

I WON!!! I WON THE TICKET TO FIT BLOGGIN’!!

I watched the video and screamed when I saw that I won. Then I danced around my apartment. Maybe I should have recorded that. ;) I’m soooooo excited I won. I cannot wait to go!

My life is so awesome.

Since today is Thanksgiving, I thought I would blog about what I’m thankful for. And no worries, writing this blog isn’t taking away from family time, I’m actually typing this at work. Yes…I’m at work….when you work in the healthcare field, you don’t get holidays off. Lamesauce.

Anyway….on to what I’m thankful for….

My Amazing Family!

*My Family! These people are my rocks, without them, I am nothing. My dad is always good for a laugh with his nicknames he gives everyone he meets. My mom is such a strong lady and is always there when I need her. My sister is my VERY best friend and always has my back. My brother is so much like my dad and can make me laugh no matter the situation. My extended family is great and every time we all get together we have the best time ever. You should be jealous of my kick ass family!

We Make Sexy Lumberjacks!

*B-Fry! This guy is everything I have ever wanted in a boyfriend. He is really the best. He makes me laugh, is the world’s greatest cuddler, can cook, takes care of me, and makes my heart incredibly happy. My life has gotten amazingly more awesome since he entered it. Gosh, I love this man!

*B-Fry’s Family! I’ve never dated a guy with a good family before. B-Fry has a great family! They have been very welcoming and have definitely made me feel like one of them. They rock!

*My Friends! All my friends, real life and online are awesome. Always there for me when I need to chat or need a hug.

My Baby

*Atticus! He is my baby and is always good for a cuddle. He jumps up in my arms when I pat my chest and has the most odd meows. He makes me smile when he greets me at the door.

*Weight Watchers! This is the program that has helped me to lose over 120 lbs. If it weren’t for WW, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I know that I’m the one who has done the work, but WW has given me the tools to do the work.

*My Blog Readers! Without you guys I wouldn’t have this blog. So thanks for sticking around!!

I’m also thankful for:

*Books, music, photography, avocados, my BlackBerry, blank notebooks, stickers, Letters Of Love, Soft Lips chapstick, Diet Dr Pepper, zip up hoodies, kisses, hugs, sleep, Laughing Cow cheese, water, Twitter, black eye liner, slippers, hot showers, running, my foam roller, and a million other things.

My life is good and I have a lot to be thankful for.

What are YOU thankful for?!
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
