Oh hi there! I survived ringing in 2012 and I hope all of you did too! B-Fry and I rang in the New Year with my sister and her fiancé. It was a lot of fun, but I’m not gonna lie, I felt a lil old hanging out with the college aged kids. Lol.
The first week of the year was absolutely crazy! I don’t think I stopped moving once. We had my side’s family Christmases this past weekend and I also worked. So as soon as I got off work, I was on my way to some celebration. Friday was my immediate family Christmas, Saturday was my big family Christmas, and Sunday was B-Fry’s grandma’s 70th birthday get together.
I’m glad that things have finally settled down in my world. I love all the family time, but as we all know, when we’re out of routine, things that are important everyday get thrown to the wayside. I’m happy to report that I didn’t get completely out of control; I mean I didn’t join in beer pong at my family Christmas. (What your family doesn’t play beer pong? lol) But I did indulge in some drinks and a delicious slice of red velvet cheesecake! Along with those few indulgences, I kept up with my workouts! In fact I’ve only skipped out on one workout since the New Year! (I take Wednesdays and Sundays off) And the only reason I skipped it was because I absolutely needed the extra sleep!
Now since we’re talking about the New Year, it’s time to set some goals! Now, I’m pretty crappy at meeting the goals I set at the beginning of the year. I make them, and then forget all about them. This time around I plan on putting a list somewhere I can actually see it and remember the goals I set!
Here are my goals!
2012 Goals
*Project 365
-Picture everyday with a little explanation
-Scrapbook page for each week
I’ve already started this and have done super well so far! I love pictures and this is a great way to remember awesome things from each day. Some things have been silly like a dinner I made; others have been more meaningful like pictures from family Christmas.
*Run A 5k
-Train
-Find a 5k and sign up
This is seriously the 3rd year I have made this goal! The first year the 5k was cancelled and the second year I dealt with IT issues. So this year, I’m going to train properly and JUST DO IT!
*$1 Per Workout
-Get a jar with a label
-When I hit a milestone, spend money on a reward
I saw this idea on Pinterest. The idea is that every time you work out, you put $1 in a jar. It’s great motivation to keep up the workouts! I have my jar, I just need to label it and add money! I’m up to $9 so far!
*Own My Own Website
-Read books/websites about the subject
-Find out cost
-Learn about design
I’ve always wanted to own my own domain. I know nothing about it tough. Is it easy? Is it something I can handle or afford? Well, I’m going to find out!
*Get More Organized
-Organize rooms
-Calendar and memo board
I’m horrible at remembering things anymore, so I’ve decided that a wall calendar will do wonders with remembering important things like when deposits are due for wedding things! I also would like to work on a budget for B-Fry and I since we really need to work on money saving! And I need to organize my craft room like crazy! Right now it is a total catch all! I’m happy to report though that there is major talk about a desk for the room! (FINALLY!!)
*Survive Wedding Planning
-Don’t wait until last minute
-Ask for help
I’m horrible at putting things off and not asking for help. I’m someone who thinks I can do it all myself, which is totally not the case! I’ve been making lists and asking for help when needed. I’m sure I’ll be doing this more so I can make it to the big day!!
So there you have it, my goals for the New Year!
What are yours?
