Talk about a busy weekend here in Not On A Diet land! My sister and her fiance were in town, which always means some family fun!
Saturday my mom, sister, and I all did the awesome Color Me Rad 5k! It was of course a ton of fun! I mean, how couldn’t it be?
This was before it all started and we were still clean. That of course didn’t last very long since we threw color on each other before we even crossed the starting line. This race was a lot more organized than the last color run we did, which was great. They had different waves, so it didn’t seem overwhelming with everyone going at once.
We walked the course, since my mom isn’t much of a runner. Although, she did make a promise to my sister and I that she would train to run Race for the Cure next summer! I’ll be sure to introduce her to the awesomeness that is Couch to 5k! Anyways, we made our way through each color station and love that they had the liquid station too!
I love that above picture! It was right after we did the purple station. I also love the picture below, I look so thin! Sometimes my mind still plays tricks on me and I don’t feel that thin. But, damn if I’m not fit and fine!
We made our way to the finish line and took some rad pictures. I love that we were able to get a picture at the end with us all and that they had photographers along the course. I’m excited to see how the race photos turned out, I made sure to flex to show off my RAD tattoo most of the time. Lol.
Needless to say, we were quite colorful at the end of the race and again had color in places that it didn’t belong! Who would think at sports bra could hold so much! Haha.
After some much needed showering, Mr. B and I headed over to my parent’s house for some pool time and a cookout. Always a good time when we get together! Somehow my dad ended up falling out of the pool and we had many dive stick catching competitions. My brother is pretty dang good at that!
Oh, I also got to rock my new Victoria’s Secret bikini top!
My sister and I got some veggie and shrimp kabobs ready for the grill, which were delicious! I also made a quinoa salad for the meal. Lots of good food was had!
Later there was a bonfire and s’mores! Mr. B and I called it an early night though, because I had to make sure I was well rested for wedding dress shopping with my sister on Sunday. I’ve been dress shopping with my sister for pretty much every high school dance and knew how difficult this could potentially be. I mean, we went to Des Moines her senior year to hunt for a prom dress.
We had fun picking out different dresses for my sister to try on and I had a lot of fun helping her put them on (except when I hit myself in the eye with a hanger. Haha.) Some of those dresses are freaking heavy though! And who thought corset backs and tons of buttons were a good idea? Lol. She pretty much made up her mind with dress number 2 or 3, but tried on a few more to be sure.
Then she put on THE dress again and I cried. It was absolutely beautiful on her and she looked stunning! I also may have been crying tears of joy that she found her dress in the first store and we weren’t going to have to travel to New York City or something.
Now that she has her dress, October 18th, 2014 cannot get here soon enough! I’m excited to start getting bachelorette party and bridal shower planning underway! I’m sure the time will go by quick!
The weekend ended with watching Mr. B, my brother, and my sister’s fiance playing dek hockey. Thankfully we found a shady spot to sit, because boy was it HOT out! This week is supposed to be pretty toasty, so I’ll be spending my days indoors and exercising in the AC!
How was your weekend?
