Remember back on my birthday when I made an awesome list of things I wanted to do before I turned 28? Well, if you don’t GO HERE! (I’ll wait…)
One of the things on that list was to attend a Zumba class. Well guess who finally decided to see what all this silly Zumba stuff was all about? This chick right here!
My mom belongs to a gym and mentioned that they have classes that non-members could attend. We started talking about Zumba and how we both wanted to give it a try. We made plans to go to a class last week, but due to unfortunate events, we had to reschedule.
We finally got to attend this past Tuesday. I met my mom at the gym and snapped this picture before we got sweaty! Oh and I got to do the class for free since it was my first time! WIN!

Mom and I before shaking our money makers!
We found the room where we would be and chatted with a lady who was a regular. She informed us that it was a Zumba class mixed with Marsala dancing and that the instructor was great. A few more people trickled in, but not many and the majority were newbies too. My mom wanted to hide in the back, but I told her we couldn’t because I was given the advice to make sure you saw the instructor your first few times. So, I bravely stood with my mom in the second row. Which meant the people behind me would totally be able to see my awesome dance moves or lack there of actually. Lol.
The instructor told us she was going to do a bit of an easier class since most of us were new. I was pretty glad to hear that because I was still kinda scared that I had no idea what to expect. A few songs in though, I was pouring sweat and having SO MUCH FUN! My mom got her sweat on too and was slightly entertaining to watch trying to get the moves down. But, she got her groove on!
Go Mama B!
Halfway through the class she informed us that we would be trying out a new song she had just learn the moves to. Guess what the song was?! Gangnam Style! (Please tell me know you what I’m talking about, if not watch the video below!)
Talk about hilarious! How could I not love Zumba after that song? Lol.
An hour later the class was done. Time flew by and I was a sweaty mess! I learned that I shouldn’t wear my gray capris to Zumba though. Butt sweat is a nasty thing! Haha.
Zumba was freaking awesome! And I’m sad I waited THIS LONG to get in on a class! I will definitely be returning and I’m also thinking of doing it a second night at another location. Mama B liked it too! We gave it a thumbs up!

Hot messes!
Do you Zumba? If you’re from the Quad City area, where do you Zumba?
