I listen to a podcast (mentioned below) and they do a fun segment every month where they talk about what the are reading, watching, listening to, and who they are following. I always love hearing what others are doing to get ideas for my own lists. I figured why not a version on this as well and maybe even get few suggestions from you guys!
Dark Places by Gillian Flynn– I bought all of Gillian Flynn’s books for a really good deal on Amazon awhile ago. I devoured Gone Girl and then forgot about the other two. When we went camping for my birthday in July, I picked back up and read Sharp Objects. Shortly after that I just went into Dark Places. All 3 are great and Dark Places totally blew my mind at the end. That Gillian is one twisted lady!
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes– I just finished this book on Sunday and I loved it. It’s an easy read and was great to pick up after Dark Places. It’s part love story and part a woman finding herself. I’m excited to read more after the sequel After You comes out at the end of September.
The Lake by Stephan Gray– Steve is a fellow Fitblogger and has recently decided to pursue writing. He debuted his first short story An End a month ago and The Lake recently hit Amazon. The Lake is a super quick read (about 10 pages) and was heartbreaking, yet beautiful. Oh and it is only $.99 for you Kindle. Can’t beat that!
Mind of a Chef– We love us a great cooking show here in the Not On a Diet household. This one is part travel/part cooking which is pretty awesome. We just finished up season 3 which was really interesting and now has us wanting to travel to Sweden.
Around the Table Podcast– This is the podcast I mentioned above where I grabbed this idea from. Jacey and Maggie get together a couple of time during the week and just chat. I love their friendship and feel like we could be great friends.
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats– These are the guys we saw in a barn a couple of weeks ago. Mr. B and I cannot get enough of S.O.B. They performed it on The Tonight Show last week and got a standing ovation. Their album isn’t out YET, but the songs they have released thus far are all good.
@ShesNachoMama & @DubyaWife on Periscope. Have you heard of Periscope? It is live-streaming video that in turn can be viewed for up to 24 hours. Anyways, Margo and Christine are doing awesome things over on Periscope to help inspire you. Margo does a word of the day and a morning pep talk and Christine is always popping on with something inspirational as well. They also run #Inspiriscope on Mondays @8am Pacific time and Thursdays @ 5pm Pacific time. Just check it out, it’s awesome. Also, I’m on there at well (@babnotonadiet), but have yet to do a video. Anything you’d like to see?
What’s on you read/watch/listen/follow list?
