Back to my regular Workout Wednesday posts where I either share a workout I created or one I’ve found on the internet! My Ripped in 30 Challenge was awesome while it lasted! Sadly, something not so good did come from it. I’ve somehow ended up with an elbow injury.
Lamest thing EVER!
It started bugging me about 2 days before my challenge was over, but not enough to not finish. It started bugging me a bit more, but I really noticed it last Thursday when I went to do Jillian’s Extreme Shed & Shred. I did some burpees, then went to move to a punch-jab move. One punch-jab combo and I was screaming in pain.
Obviously this meant rest and all that jazz. Oh and Icy Hot….smells nasty, but really helps. Mr. B has suggested the doctor, but I’m not gonna have them tell me to do what I’m already doing.
Now in the past when dealing with an injury, I would have just stopped all workouts. If I couldn’t do all that I wanted, why do anything at all? Well, I changed it this time around! I’ve been resting my elbow and doing a bunch of lower body stuff.
I’m going to share a lower body and ab workout I created, along with a video that I did yesterday that I liked.
Here’s the video I found too. I LOVE having access to You Tube on our Apple TV.
I’ve also just done some jogging around the duplex in the morning. It’s WAY too cold to get outsides, so around the living room works for me. I also attended Zumba again last night.
The elbow is still sore, which is my own fault because I thought it was better and attempted another beloved workout DVD. I was paying for it later. So, I’m gonna give it more time. Not going to lie, it’s super frustrating having an injury. Especially one so silly! I cannot wait to be able to get my sweat on with Jillian again!
Have you ever suffered an injury from exercising? Did you modify your workouts or just use it as an excuse to take a break?
