So, I’ve completed Week 1 of my Ripped In 30 Challenge! I’m currently in the middle of week 2, but first we shall discuss my thoughts on week 1!
I really enjoyed week 1! It was challenging, but not super challenging where I couldn’t do it. She uses the same 3-2-1 system she used in the 30 Day Shred with 3 different circuits in each workout. I do like the way she sets it up in Ripped In 30 though. She does each move for 30 seconds, which is nice because sometimes longer than that makes me feel like I’m going to die. Lol.
I used mostly 8lb or 10lb weights for the strength exercise except when working my shoulders. I have weak shoulders, so I use 5lb weights. Even the 5lb weights are tough though! My favorite strength move was probably the squat and shoulder press, I’ve always been a fan. My least favorite strength exercise was definitely the side lunges with front shoulder raise. I SUCK at side lunges! They are something I definitely need to work on!
Cardio was all great and I really liked all the moves. There were ice skaters, which are my absolute favorite and single leg hops, which were challenging during the last circuit for sure!
There were some tough ab exercises this week! There was this move called the hollow man and holy crap is that a bitch! Very super hard to do it even in the modified version. I didn’t think my core was that weak, but I’m quickly learning I am mistaken!
All in all week 1 was great! It was much more challenging that the 30 Day Shred which is what I was looking for. I’m excited to see what the next few weeks bring! I’m sure the results will be kick ass, because I’m totally kicking ass!
What are you doing to challenge yourself lately?
