Even though I am super bummed about not being at Fitbloggin’, there are some awesome things I want to share! It’s always good to look at the positive in life, right…..right!
First off, I got a Weight Watchers ActiveLink! If don’t know what it is, here’s a brief explanation; it’s this little monitor that you wear and it tracks your movement. It will then take that information and tell you how many Activity PointsPlus you’ve earned throughout the day. I am doing the assessment right now, which is killing me! Lol. I’m ready to see what I’m earning!
What’s even better than the ActiveLink is how I got it!
So, my mom just returned to Weight Watchers (woot!) and has her meetings on Wednesday mornings. While at her meeting, she bought the ActiveLink and gave it to Becky, the amazing leader. Becky then gave it to me while I was at my meeting on Wednesday night! My mom even wrote a sweet note on it!

My mom’s the best!
I had planned on buying it for myself when I hit 150lbs lost, but this was a super awesome surprise! I plan on doing a full review on it when I get done with my assessment. I’m excited to see if I’m earning more Activity PointsPlus than I estimate or less.
Now, something that may be slightly cooler than the ActiveLink, but WAY more expensive!
We bought a new vehicle! This is something that Mr. B and I had been discussing for a while. He owned a 2008 Jeep Wrangler when we met (forever ago!) and yeah it was pretty hot to see him in it. But, then riding in it got kind of annoying. It was a stick shift, so it was a jerky ride and it was only a 2 door, which means there was hardly any room. It also started to have some issues, so we decided it was best to just trade it in.
After some searching and working out our budget, we got a brand new 2012 Nissan Pathfinder! Eek! It’s so nice, roomy, an automatic, and doesn’t have an oil issue!
I’ve never owned a brand new car before, so it’s pretty exciting. And we were fortunate enough that they gave us much more than the Jeep was worth and didn’t raise our car payments very much! So, it was a major win all around!
And lastly, Mr. B and I get to do something pretty cool on Sunday! It’s the Quad Cities Marathon here locally. It’s a pretty awesome race that starts in Illinois and crosses the Mississippi over to Iowa. Here’s a better explanation from the website: It covers 5 races, 4 cities, 3 bridges, 2 states, and 1 island, all along the mighty Mississippi River.

No, we’re not running any of the races. Although this really should have been the 5k I did this year. We will actually be handing out medals at the end of the race! How awesome is that? We get to give medals to people who are accomplishing awesome things! Anyone who runs 26.2 miles is pretty amazing in my book! I can’t wait to congratulate the runners and give them their race bling!
That’s what’s happening around our place! What’s happening at yours?
Also, I need a new reward for when I hit 150lbs lost! Any suggestions?
