Hello everyone! It’s Monday! Who is stoked about that?
…..crickets…..
Ya, me either! Is there anyone who actually enjoys Mondays? I personally can’t imagine that being possible. But before we get to Monday….let’s talk about last night!
Mr. B and I, along with some friends headed to Iowa City to catch a show. After feeling incredible old surrounded by all the incoming freshman, we made our way to The Englert Theatre.
We got decent seats and the theatre was quite nice. We all waited for the show to begin and had some drinks. It was very relaxed and I was personally glad to be sitting. Maybe I’m just old, but I don’t care to be on ‘the floor’ getting pushed around. Lol. We waited for what of course felt like forever.
Then Nathaniel Rateliff came on. I wasn’t introduced to him until I met Mr. B, but man was I missing out before then! His voice is amazing and I’ve decided I would like it very much if he would sing lullabies for our future children. Lol. I was hoping to post a video for you guys to see, but I’m on the iPad. So just go YouTube him and give him a listen!
After Nathaniel, Dawes hit the stage. They were great too! The lead guy plays a mean guitar and my only complaint was that they added a guitar solo to practically every song. I was beyond sleepy and ready to go home at this point. Lol. (yep, I’m old. Lol)
It was a bit after 11:00 pm when we left the theatre and headed out on our 1hour drive home. We drive through Loud Thunder Forest Preserve on our route home which is a heavily wooded area. We encountered 10+ deer while driving through there last night and avoided every single one of them.
We get 3-4 miles away from our house and a huge deer runs out in front of us. Mr. B luckily saw it in time and slowed up a bit. But unfortunately not enough and we hit the butt end of a huge deer. Sigh.
After snapping pictures and calming down, we didn’t make it to bed until almost 1:00 am. Needless to say I did not get up for my 5:15 am workout, which put a damper on my day.
Then Mr. B calls to inform me that our car insurance isn’t going to cover any of the damage. Really?? I wanted to flip, but couldn’t because I’m at work. (Let’s not even get me started on why Monday ((or any day)) sucks because of work. Lol) So, now we have a damaged car that we have to pay out of pocket for….super sigh.
Think I could get any money for that deer hair? Haha.
So that is how my Monday is going. I’m hoping it gets better, which I’m sure it will at about 4:00 pm. I’ll be off work and on my way to relax with Mr. B. I’m oh so ready for it!!
