Birthday Week: In Review

Last week was my birthday week and as usual it was nothing short of awesome! I thought I would share some pictures of what went on with you all. :)

My birthday was Tuesday and Mr. B started off my day by giving me my present! He picked out a purse and wallet for me. Unfortunately the wallet had a tear on the inside, so I had to pick out a different one.

I’d say he did pretty well! Oh and I got my first ‘wife’ card, which was pretty awesome!

I had the day off so I went to out with his grandmother. We went and got my new driver’s license (which has to be redone since they spelled my new last name wrong!), then we went to lunch at Cafe Fresh!

That evening Mr. B took me out to dinner at Bass Street Landing. Talk about and incredible meal! I can’t even quite put it into words. We started off with shrimp cocktail, then I had the chilled avocado soup. My dinner was barracuda and a side of macaroni and cheese. It was to die for!!

The night ended with some red velvet cake and relaxing at home with super full bellies!

Friday night was my family birthday dinner with the two families getting together. We went to Cafe Fresh and had another delicious meal! I got some more great gifts including a total cupcake themed gift from my sister and her fiancé. Highlight had to be the Scratch Cupcakes though! They are located where my sister lives and make some crazy yummy cupcakes. My mom planned with my sister to get some and bring them down. It was awesome! (I love cupcakes and dream of owning a cupcakery someday) There were 12 different flavors and I settled on the Salty Dog. Which is peanut butter cake topped with peanut butter frosting and salted peanuts. Ya….heaven in a cupcake wrapper!

W ended the night at my parent’s house hanging out and messing around with my sister’s fiance’s light saber. Lol. I’m pretty good with one if I do say so myself. But if there’s ever any danger, I know I can count on Mr. B!

Saturday I met my mom and sis at the farmer’s market and bought some goodies. Including some lavender goat’s milk soap, wine, and some delicious bread!

Saturday evening we went out and had a fun time. Met up with a coworker and had a few drinks, then off to Bent River for good company and delicious beer!

Today was a lazy morning followed by a great bike ride with Mr. B!

As for working out and eating right, it was about 50/50. A lot was going on, so I couldn’t get all my workouts in and all the eating out was hazardous not only to the bank account, but also the diet.

So this week, we’ve made it a goal not to eat out! I’m also getting in all my workouts! No excuses!

How was your week?

28 Before I Turn 28! (aka It’s My Birthday!)

Today is my birthday! I’m now the awesome age of 27! Wasn’t I just celebrating my 21st yesterday?

Ohh….guess that was 6 years ago….(!!!)

Yes that’s me at 21…..thank goodness that I have gotten not only smarter about my health, but also my hair and clothing choices. Lol.

So in honor of my birthday and the fact that I’m going to turn 28 next year, I’ve decided to come up with a list of 28 things I want to accomplish before I turn 28.

1) Redesign My Blog
2) Read 28 Books
3) Complete a 5k (seriously, this NEEDS to happen)
4) Sell cupcakes and cookies at a farmer’s market
5) Write more letters
6) Do a Zumba class
7) Plant a garden
8) Create my own cupcake recipe
9) Host a party
10) Start a family blog with Mr. B
11) Finish a scrapbook
12)Learn how to ski
13) See Florence & the Machine in concert
14) Go on a camping trip
15) Take a cooking class
16) Do 100 pushups
17) Sew something
18) Hit goal weight
19) Go on a picnic
20) Dye my hair red
21) Make my mom’s chicken and dumplings
22) Start another written journal
23) Take more pictures (including my sister’s engagement pics!)
24) Send Christmas cards to everyone
25) Enter a photography contest
26) Join a book club
27) Get a freelance writing gig
28) Visit the state of Washington (Jenny and Matt to be specific!)

I’m pretty excited to accomplish this list.  I feel like now that wedding planning is over, I can actually do other things. Lol. I never realized how much I gave up during that time. It was all worth it though! But now, time to focus on other awesome things! :)

I plan on making a tab up top for the list and to blog about it when I cross something off, so stay tuned for some stories!

What are things you’re wanting to accomplish?

It’s Bootcamp Time Again!

20120722-113050.jpg

The amazing Tina Reale is hosting another Best Body Bootcamp! I toyed around with the idea of joining..I thought that I would just do my 30 Day Shred challenge again. But who was I kidding I really needed the accountability of checking in with Tina every week and the support of the Facebook group. So, I decided go join at the very last minute. Literally just a few hours before registration closed.

I’m glad I decided to do it again because I am needing something to get my ass back into gear. Last week I talked about getting back on track, which worked a little bit. My eating has been much better than it has been in a month. With the exception of Thursday when I decided to bake cookies to bring along to the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises. There were quite a few cookies consumed along with some popcorn and gummy worms. But I didn’t let that completely sway me off track.

I’m still not completely on track with it all though and I’m still not feeling in control. Which of course is nobody’s fault but my own. Obviously it is because I had much more on my mind the last couple of months, but that can no longer be an excuse.

So, I’m taking bootcamp as my chance to get back at it and to lose the weight I gained over the last month. I have no excuse not to work out, since the next 8 weeks are already planned out for me. Now I just need to get in the routine of waking up again early in the morning to workout. Guess I better go re-read my post on how to make working out a routine, because I’ve sure forgotten how to do that!

I’ve also picked two goals to work on this week to help get me back at it. I’m going to aim to drink 1 gallon of water each day and to also pack a lunch filled with nothing but filling foods for work. I’m very capable of accomplishing both and will do so.

Bootcamp begins tomorrow and I’m totally going to rock it out!!

Did any of you join Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp?
