Struggling: A Vlog

Here’s my first attempt at a “real” vlog! Enjoy!

Here’s a recap:

I’m struggling due to wedding stress! I’m working on a plan to get back on track!

This week’s goals:

*Track for 5 days!
*Workout for at least 3!

Also, I need tips, tricks, and new food ideas! I’m in a rut with breakfast and lunch!

Oh, and I goofed up and said B-Fry’s real name….lol. Pretty sure that’s happened before! :)

Thoughts on the vlog? Would you like more?

I’m looking to experiment with quinoa if I can get my hands on it! I found a recipe that looks tasty and it’s apparently only 2 points per serving, and there’s a bunch more! Pinterest has been a huge help in finding tasty healthy recipes. I’m proud of how many things I”ve been experimenting with lately :D Good luck, love! <3

I feel you on this one Brooke…lately I’ve been trying to create mantras that feel help me stay focused on how I want to feel (because for me, it’s ALL about how I feel), and what feels right is to say, “Today I am free to…[fill in the blank].” For example, “Today I am free to feel sure and confident” (because feeling sure and confident = me making the right choices for myself)

    And here’s a breakfast idea I created recently :-)

    1/8 cup oatbran
    1/2 cup water
    1/8 cup raisins
    1/8 cup chia seeds
1/4 cup Egg Beaters egg whites
    Cinnamon/vanilla (optional)

Combine first two ingredients in a big mug or deep bowl and microwave for 60 seconds. Add remaining ingredients and microwave for 90 seconds, making sure to watch carefully for overflows! Top with a bit of milk of your choice (if you want to).

I know this sounds strange, but I really love egg white omelets with imitation crab and some shredded mozzarella. They are delish!

This a.m. I diced up some hard boiled eggs in a bowl, added some pink salmon (just the kind you get in a pouch) some creamy dijon mustard, salt, pepper, thyme, and oregano. Another light breakfast! (high in protein too!)

Let me know if you tried ‘em and liked em!

    Also, love the vlog!

First of all (besides LOVING the Vlog), you look BEAUTIFUL!! You have come SO far on your jouney. I totally understand your stress level. There are only so many hours in the day to get everything done PLUS work PLUS eat PLUS work out. Try not to be so hard on yourself…that only stresses you out more. You KNOW how to eat healthy, you KNOW how to track your points, you KNOW how to work up a good sweat one way or another. Just go deep inside of yourself and pull out all that wisdom that has helped you get so far and if you miss a workout or eat too many points one day, don’t beat yourself up! Keep up the good work by NOT binge eating. Go get that bike and go for a ride…that will help alleviate some of your stress! There are SO many people out here cheering for you!!!!

Sign up for an event! That always helps me get back in the swing of things ;) Since time is of the essence, orchestrate your OWN personal event! Do a 10K, or half! Make it all official like, map it out and everything ;)

Love the vlog! I’m on a hard-boiled egg kick for breakfast myself (with an occasional Eggo Waffler…while not terribly nutritious…very tasty and portable). :) I’m starting Farrell’s Extreme Bodybuilding next week (not sure if they have them by you); my kick in the pants to get moving again.

Love the vlog too Brooke! Don’t worry – once the wedding is over you’ll find your groove again. You look beautiful!

Breakfast parfaits are my latest obcession – they are usually around 350 calories and keep me full for hours. :D

Chocolate-Covered Katie has a ton of yummy looking, healthy breakfast recipes. (Which I should seriously start making. Breakfast gets so boring so quick.)

I miss vlogging. You’re so cute! I think you should definitely do more vlogs. I also think you could be nicer to yourself! Weddings are only one day in your life. You guys love each other and share your lives, and that’s what’s important. When I’m stressed about something, I like to sit down and make a list of what specifically is stressing me out — whether it’s a physical list or just one in my head. Then I ask myself, “Do I really need X? Can this work without Y?” Most of the time, I can drop these things and focus on the important things.

So for example, the essentials of a wedding would be food and drinks, seating, and the pastor/justice/cat giving the ceremony. (And possibly restrooms.) I work in fine jewelry at a department store and I see brides-to-be freaking out over bridesmaids gifts all the time. I’m not saying something like that isn’t a nice thing to do, but in the grand scheme of things, it’s not going to make or break the day. Maybe prioritizing would help, but it definitely doesn’t help to make yourself crazy over it. <333
