Last Tuesday I went out of my comfort zone and met a local fitblogger for dinner. I was extremely nervous and considering canceling. I mean, what if she didn’t like me…what if she thought I was lame….what if….what if. I blame this feeling on the many years I didn’t feel worthy enough of friends…but that’s a whole other blog.
After texting B-Fry from the Walmart parking lot (I was killing time) that I was going to vomit, he told me I’d be fine. And I bucked up and went. While walking into Panera, there was a rather creepy guy sitting outside, and the thought crossed my mind that maybe that was the blogger (not this girl) and it was all a mean joke. (Gosh….how lame am I to have these thoughts? Lol) Luckily, that guy completely ignored me and I went inside. After a few minutes, Stephanie walked in! My jitters subsided and we had a great time talking and hanging out.
Stephanie is pretty awesome and she has done some pretty awesome athletic things. (She’s done Ragbrai, half marathons, and she currently training for a triathlon!) In other words, she’s pretty badass.
Anyways, as we were talking about all this she was talking about running. And for some reason all this talk inspired me to go on a run that night after meeting with her.
Which in turn has turned in to a few more runs and has helped me discover that I love running in the morning before work! Sunday and Monday I ran about a mile and this morning I ran TWO freaking miles! Ya, I felt like a rockstar!

Badass!
Now, I really have a love/hate relationship with running. Mostly the hate has been because I tend to have issues with my IT band, but I’ve been taking care this time around. I’m not pushing myself super hard and there’s plenty of stretching! I won’t be running 13.1 miles anytime soon, but maybe I’ll get to run my first official 5k!
Thanks Stephanie for helping me find my running mojo!
