Foodie Penpals Reveal: May 2012

First off it was pretty cool to see that a few of my readers are a fan of Shameless! Such a guilty pleasure show! B-Fry and I absolutely love it! We almost went to the Gallaghger house last week while in Chicago. Lol. Ended up at Trader Joe’s instead! (post on that trip soon!)

We’re back for another round of Foodie Penpals! Last month I got my package late, so that’s why there wasn’t a post! Anyways, if you’re new to Foodie Penpals, all information can be found by clicking on the icon below! It’s a lot of fun and I’ve gotten to try a lot of different foods because of it!

This month my package came from Madeline over at Food, Fitness, & Family! I started reading her blog during Tina’s Bootcamp and she’s had the cutest little girl! Go check her out! (the blog and the cutie of a baby!)

Here are the goodies she sent my way!

This stuff is the absolute devil! Lol. I love peanut butter and white chocolate. Together they create beautiful things! You can tell it has been well eaten already! :)

B-Fry loves hot sauce, so this has his name all over it! He hasn’t had time to douse anything yet. But it’ll happen, then he’ll complain of heartburn. Lol

Some tasty bars! Can’t wait to try the sea salt graham! Chocolate and sea salt may be my new fave combo. (after PB and white chocolate of course)

A popcorn mix with all kinds of goodies mixed in. Almonds, caramel, and cashews, OH MY!

Rainbow popcorn! I plan on sharing this with my dad, he has an air popper and love him some popcorn!

I love oatmeal, I’ve seriously had it every morning since January I think! I’ve heard nothing but good things about Coach’s! What do you mix in with your oatmeal? I’m a PB2 and banana kinda gal!

Thai sweet chili sauce is one of my favorite sauces, but I must say these chips were a little disappointing. Not bad, but def don’t live up to the name!

Again, I got a great package! I won’t be participating in June though, because June 30th is THE WEDDING!! And I don’t have time to do anything extra! Lol.

So, go join and take my place! :)

Finding My Running Mojo

Last Tuesday I went out of my comfort zone and met a local fitblogger for dinner. I was extremely nervous and considering canceling. I mean, what if she didn’t like me…what if she thought I was lame….what if….what if. I blame this feeling on the many years I didn’t feel worthy enough of friends…but that’s a whole other blog. :)

After texting B-Fry from the Walmart parking lot (I was killing time) that I was going to vomit, he told me I’d be fine. And I bucked up and went. While walking into Panera, there was a rather creepy guy sitting outside, and the thought crossed my mind that maybe that was the blogger (not this girl) and it was all a mean joke. (Gosh….how lame am I to have these thoughts? Lol) Luckily, that guy completely ignored me and I went inside. After a few minutes, Stephanie walked in! My jitters subsided and we had a great time talking and hanging out.

Stephanie is pretty awesome and she has done some pretty awesome athletic things. (She’s done Ragbrai, half marathons, and she currently training for a triathlon!) In other words, she’s pretty badass. :) Anyways, as we were talking about all this she was talking about running. And for some reason all this talk inspired me to go on a run that night after meeting with her.

Which in turn has turned in to a few more runs and has helped me discover that I love running in the morning before work! Sunday and Monday I ran about a mile and this morning I ran TWO freaking miles! Ya, I felt like a rockstar!

Badass!

Badass!

Now, I really have a love/hate relationship with running. Mostly the hate has been because I tend to have issues with my IT band, but I’ve been taking care this time around. I’m not pushing myself super hard and there’s plenty of stretching! I won’t be running 13.1 miles anytime soon, but maybe I’ll get to run my first official 5k!

Thanks Stephanie for helping me find my running mojo!
