30 Day Shred Level 1 Update!

So I’ve been working on my 30 Day Shred Challenge for two weeks now and I finished up Level 1 on Saturday! I am proud to say that I did it all 10 days and worked out hard!

I really liked Level 1, I thought it was a great beginning level and was tough, but not overly hard. It was also quite challenging the first few days and there were still some challenging moves when day 10 came around. (Side lunges with front lateral raises suck!)

The biggest improvement I made was on day 1 I could hardly do 5 knees pushups. By the time day 10 rolled around I was up to 20! Pretty stinking awesome!

I feel much stronger now and I’m gaining some pretty badass biceps! B-Fry better watch out, I may be able to take him down when this is all said and done. Lol.

My clothes are feeling much more loose too! My workout capris hardly stay up when I’m jumping around and my jeans constantly need to be pulled up. I think a shopping trip will be happening after day 30. I’m sure nothing will fit then. 🙂

I’m really enjoying the 30 Day Shred and am hoping to work through another Jillian DVD after this. Any suggestions? Doing this challenge has really pushed me and I’m loving it!

I did day 1 of Level 2 today. Oh boy, talk about tough! I’m more than ready for the challenge though!

What workout DVD or workout do you do when you need a good challenge?

  • That a girl! Eat primal and watch how much faster it all comes together!

  • Oh those side lunges are the worst! I actually enjoyed Level 2 a lot! If I feel like I am ready, I am going to attempt this challenge starting March. Good luck, and I can’t wait to see the rest of your updates!
    Right now I am hula hooping for my workout. I love it and don’t even realize I am working out until I am done and covered with sweat and TIRED. I kept trying it yesterday and I am actually a little sore today. My goal is to do it for ten minutes without stopping. My best time so far is 6 min!

  • Oh, I am finishing Level 2 today and I really liked that level. It was quite a challenge but now I am able to keep up pretty much the whole way through. And I like most exercises except the last strength interval, though all those plank exercises are hard on my elbows and wrists. I really hated those side lunges with front lateral raises from level 1 too. I am not sure if I’ve lost that many inches, though my jeans definitely fit much more loosely and I am considering trying on a size down the next time I go shopping.

  • I love the suggestions you’re getting & am going to keep this in mind when I’m done.
    Seriously – watching the improvement from day 1 is wild isn’t it?…especially the pushups!

  • Back in April of 2010, I did 30 day shred for 30 days, while I only lost 5 pounds that month, I lost inches! And for the record, I HATED level 2 and after level 1 skipped straight to level 3.

    I did a TaeBo tape yesteray that used just 1 pound hand weights, but after 45 minutes of strength training, it kicked my ass!


  • I try doing some workout tapes but it is hard to find ones that are not made with women in mind. I did P90 for a few weeks but I hated the Yoga parts.
