2011: In Review

2011 is coming to an end tonight and 2012 is right around the corner. I’m ready for 2012. 2011 was great, but I know 2012 is going to be even better! Like Kerri over at FitViews said, “I’m going to make 2012 my bitch!”

But before I make 2012 my bitch….let’s look back at 2011!

It wasn’t anything major in the weight loss department, in fact I only lost 2.8lbs for the entire year. It was a struggle, but I know it is because I didn’t give 110% the whole time. The last few months I really kicked it into gear though. Especially with working out, which I am super proud of!

Let’s talk about some highlights of 2011 in the style of bullet points, because we all know we love those! :)

January:

* I made some pretty lofty goals in January. Things didn’t go as planned and I have learned to make smarter goals for 2012.

* I discovered that when I hit 125lbs lost, that I had lost the equivalent of my sister!

February:

* I got to see mountains for the first time. I spent one amazing week, in an amazing house, with some amazing people in Breckenridge, Colorado. I rode and DROVE a snowmobile for the first time and hot tubbed it up in the snow. It was absolutely beautiful!

* B-Fry also made his post debut on my blog! (Maybe I’ll even get him to write another!)

March:

* I discovered a piece of paper that proved to me even more that B-Fry and I were meant to be. It still gives me chills!

April:

* Must have been a pretty boring month, because I couldn’t find one exciting thing that happened. Lol

May:

* Well, B-Fry and I got ENGAGED! By far one of the best days of the year!

* Oh, there was also this little event called FitBloggin! I flew for the first time since I was a little girl, got to meet some very awesome people, and crossed off meeting Shauna off my bucket list!

June:

* I got Betty, my bike. I quickly found my love for bike riding again and couldn’t get enough of it!

July:

* Speaking of Betty, I set a birthday goal of biking 100 miles in the month of July. After biking my lil heart out, I accomplished my goal!

August:

* I made the choice to stop following the Weight Watchers PointPlus program. I wasn’t getting the same results as I did on the previous program and it got frustrating. So, I began using My Fitness Pal and counting calories.

* I was contacted by Mutual of Omaha and got to record an Aha Moment!

September:

* I had a job change, I moved from 3rd shift to 1st shift. This was a big move since I had been working 3rd shift for 5+ years. The shift change has included a lot of new responsibilities, but I’m loving not being a vampire!

* I got prepared for wedding dress shopping and decided that even though I’m not a size 8 yet, I wasn’t going to let it ruin the experience.

* B-Fry and I did the Necker’s Diamond Dash. Something that was challenging and a lot of fun!

* I also got honest with myself about weekend binges. (Which I’m happy to report don’t happen as often now!)

October:

* My sister took some really awesome engagement pictures of B-Fry and I! I’m still swooning over these!

* B-Fry got to try out for a CHL team and I couldn’t have been more proud!

* I also discovered that I’m a total morning person! Still am! Hehe.

November:

* I found my dress!

* I also got a Zero Scale and participated in a challenge!

December:

* I finally hit onederland! I have been after it since last year and finally hit it the last week of 2011! I won’t be starting 2012 over 200lbs and that’s freaking awesome!

As you can see, 2011 was amazing! 2012 will be even better! B-Fry and I will be getting married! Could it get any better than that?

I haven’t had a chance to write my goals down for 2012, but I will be making some more attainable ones. No sense in setting myself up for failure!

What about you, are you a goal setter when it comes to a new year? Are you going to make 2012 your bitch?

Hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!!

Foodie Penpals December

Remember a few weeks ago when I talked about Foodie Penpals? Well, if you don’t here’s a little refresher: Lindsay over at The Lean Green Bean started this pretty awesome pen pal project. She assigns everyone to a person, then you send that person a package filled with food goodies!

I was excited to send mine off and even more excited to receive my package!

Soon my package from Amy over at Healthy, Hungry, and Happy arrived!

All My Goodies!

Adorable Cookie Cutters! I may need to make some snowflake sugar cookies with my new Kitchen Aid Mixer!

Chocolate Coins, Candy Canes, and an Adorable Penguin card! Candy canes were great shopping fuel and were tasty in the pie I made!

Self magazine! LOVED this idea! :)

Everyone Loves a Larabar! Chocolate Chip Brownie FTW!

Mocha Chocolate NuGo bar will be gifted to B-Fry. Mocha's not my thing. Lol

Goodness Knows fruit & nut bars. I've never seen these before and have yet to try them because I keep forgetting them in the cupboard! *note to self: throw one of these in your lunchbox!*

Loved all that Amy sent! And I can’t wait for next month’s package!

Hey, would you like a package of your own? Join the Foodie Penpals then!  In case you’re a new reader, here’s a reminder of what the program is all about:

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.

-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!

-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!

-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)

-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month. *US Residents only please at this time- hopefully we can expand soon!*

If you’re interested in participating for January, please send  an email to Lindsay at theleangreenbean@gmail.com and include the following information:

-Your full name

-Your email address

-Your blog name/address

-Your twitter handle (if applicable)

I will need to hear from you by January 4th as pairings will be emailed on January 5th!

So, hit up Lindsay and she’ll hook you up! (wow…that was ridiculous…lol)

Pictures in Onederland

Thank you all for the comments, likes, and love on Facebook, Twitter, and here. It’s amazing the support I receive from people I don’t know in real life. You guys are awesome! I wouldn’t have gotten to onederland if you weren’t all there to support me!

It’s crazy to think that I’m just a small town girl who decided one day to change the way she was living. A girl who never set out to be an inspiration to people when she started to tell her story on this blog. I did this all for me. But then I started gaining readers and support. I soon realized that not only was this journey for me, but for you guys too. To show you all that it can be done and that some days, weeks, and even months are hard. That sometimes you don’t lose weight and you fall off the wagon, but I also showed you all that it’s possible to not let it derail and to get right back on track. I showed that it is possible to lose 10, 25, and even 100lbs. I even showed you all that it’s possible for a girl who never thought she’d fall in love, to find the perfect guy.

This journey has been awesome with everyone (in real life and not) cheering me along the way. You all are great! I hope that you continue with me on this crazy journey, because I still have a ways to go!

Alright, enough of the mushy stuff! On to pictures!!

ONEDERLAND!

Now here’s a side-by-side. It looks like I’m half the girl I used to be! Crazy stuff!!

Before and Current (327 and 199)

The changes are outstanding. And my body is going to continue to change.

Excuse my language, but

Fuck this shit is awesome!
