Update!

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, then you probably saw the many posts begging you to watch My Aha Moment video. But, incase you don’t follow me on those social networks, then here’s the video!

I’m pretty freaking proud of it! I was super nervous leading up to the interview, but I totally nailed it! It really is an awesome video and I’m so glad I got the opportunity to do it!

Calorie counting is still going awesomely well. I was down another 2lbs last week, so that’s a total of 5 so far. Having the My Fitness Pal app on my phone is a great tool. It is so easy to track my food. Gotta love technology!

I am lacking in the exercise portion again. It’s crazy how I can do so awesomely well for a while, then slack off again. B-Fry and I did go on a great bike ride on Saturday. It got me excited about biking again. We’re even going on another today after we visit our local farmers market. I’m excited!

Ooo…my sister and I are going to start training for a 5k next week too. She recently found out that she had broken a vertebrae in her back 7-10 years ago and the chiro told her that strengthening her core and getting active would help her from having horrible back issues later in life. So, she’s on a mission to become healthier. She mentioned wanting to start running, so I told her I’d train for a 5k with her.

It’s going to be a lot of fun, even though we won’t be running together technically. It will be nice to have someone to encourage and to have someone encourage me! Cannot wait to start!!

I’m going to pair this running program with some strength training and yoga. And LOTS of foam rolling. I don’t want my IT band to scream at me like it did the last time I really got into running. I’m not going to let it defeat me this time! I will win! :)

This is going to be great!

Counting Away

Remember when I said I was giving up on Weight Watchers and starting calorie counting?

Well there was a lot of talk in the comments about not getting enough calories and other things of that sort. Well, I don’t want anyone to worry. I consulted several different calorie counting websites and they were all in the range of 1,200-1,400 calories.

I’ve been staying within those numbers this past week and I’m happy to report that I’m down 3lbs this week! And that was without working out. (No worries I’m not going to stop working out. Just wasn’t feeling it this week)

I’m really liking calorie counting so far. I really feel like I’m more aware of what I’m eating than I was on Weight Watchers because I became lax sometimes knowing that I had extra points plus that I could use. It is weird having to count fruits and veggies again, but I’m getting back into the habit of it.

I really feel like this is going to work and help me get to my goal weight. And I’m getting excited about losing weight again. I was in a major rut and this seems to really be what I needed!

B-Fry has also joined me in this calorie counting too. Its fun having him do it too. And definitely helps with the support. Now we just need to start working out together!

I cannot wait to see how this continues to go!

Changes Are Happening

Back last year Weight Watchers completely changed their program. And in the beginning I was in love with it, just like a lot of people. I welcomed the change and quickly implemented the new PointsPlus program into my life. And it worked, but never as well as the old program did.

But I stuck with it, I figured it would all work out and I would lose weight like I had been on the old program. Well it would work out for a couple of weeks, then it would all fail again. And it wasn’t because I wasn’t tracking or working out. I’ve been doing those things quite routinely lately and I’m still gaining or not losing.

It’s become frustrating. And I’ve learned I’m not the only one with these frustrations. A few ladies and I were tweeting each other about it yesterday. They’re having a lot of the same issues I am.

Now this isn’t a sudden decision. I’ve really been thinking about trying a new approach for the last month while still doing PointsPlus. I stopped going to meetings because I cannot see the point in paying $13 a week to be told I’m gaining even though I’m doing all that I’m supposed to be doing. Plus, I really don’t have an extra $52 a month.

So, after giving it thought, I’m going to do some good ol’ fashioned calorie counting. MyFitnessPal is what I’ll be using. They have a pretty awesome droid app and the site is very informative. I’ll still be tracking everything I eat and working out 4-5 times a week.

Really hoping this will be the thing my body needs to get back on the losing track!

Are you a PointsPlus follower, if so have you been frustrated with the new program lately?

Are you a calorie counter, if so how do you like it?

Oh, MyFitnessPal username is babnotonadiet3 if you wanna add me! :)
