Doing It…

I weighed in on Saturday and I’m officially now 10 pounds up from my lowest weight. That’s what many weeks of being on plan only halfway and then not being on plan at all the last 3 weeks will get you.

Sure I’m a little upset about it, but I know it’s my own fault. I know that I need to eat better and exercise to quit gaining the weight. I know that if I want my skinny jeans to fit again without a gross muffin top, I need to count my points.

Knowing what I need to do and actually doing it are two different things though. So, this week I’m going to do the things I know I need to do. No more of this half-assing it shit.

My tracker will be utilized, my water will be consumed, and my butt will be moving.  I think I’ll be breaking out that Zumba DVD we got from Fitbloggin!

I’m ready for that scale to move in the OTHER direction again!

Why I Love This Community…

If you’re a fitness or weight loss blogger, you know how awesome this community can be. It was made quite apparent last week at Fitblogginwhen there were a lot of hugs and kind words going around. We understand each other. We know what it is like to fall off the wagon, what it is like to have an injury that can hold us back, how awesome it is to hit a weight loss milestone, and how crappy it is when we have a gain.

All you have to do is blog, Facebook, or Tweet about it and you’ll get a response from someone or multiple someones who know exactly what you’re going through.

Last night I sent out one of those tweets. Yesterday I got my first mean comment. I’ve been blogging almost two years without one, but I knew it was bound to happen. I mean, haters gonna hate.

Basically the comment boils down to that I’m not a fit blogger and no one likes a fat bride. Whatever dude….

So, I sent out a tweet that said:

Well I just got my first ever hateful comment on my blog. Thanks ‘paul’. Apparently no one loves a fat bride, good thing I’m not fat! :)

I was quickly tweeted back with awesome comments!

Kenz (@alltheweigh) Uh…you’re adorable, and you’re going to make a beautiful bride!

Renee (@pinkypie) jesus seriously?? WTF is wrong with people??? You are BEAUTIFUL now, before &surely in your future.

Paula (@paulylagordita) you are gorgeous my dear!

Brenda (@longdoglover) what a jerk. But nasty comments always hurt. As I said. Jerk. Hugs to you

Liz (@elizawhat) Print it out and frame it; you know you’ve made it when you’ve got trolls.

Shauna (@shauna sorry to hear about the comment, BOO! :( some real fuckwits out there.

Not to mention the countless awesome comments on Facebook. A lot of nice things have been said. And it has taken a cruddy situation and turned it into a better one.

I’m not going to lie, the comment stung at first. But then I realize that that person is obviously just unhappy in their own life. And quite frankly, if you don’t like what I post about, don’t read me. But that’s not the point of this post.

The point is that this community ROCKS! And I’m so glad that I’m a part of it and you have all welcomed me with open arms. If you’re a part of it, you know what I mean. We’re all understanding and are always there to offer support where needed.

Thanks for all the awesome feedback you’ve given me over the last couple of years!

Fabulous Fitbloggin!

Fitbloggin’ was awesome, amazing, fabulous, spectacular, and all other great words you can think of. I learned so much and met so many amazing people. It really was nice to be around people who “get you”. People who understand blogging, what twitter hashtags are, the weight loss battle, and will giggle when someone says that “two fingers are enough.”

Fitbloggin’ was more than the swag too, although that was a nice bonus! I came home with some awesome stuff! Running shoes from New Balance, EA Active 2 for PS3, a scale from Eat Smart Scales that measures weight/body fat/body water/muscle/bone mass, a food scale from Eat Smart Scales, several workout DVDS, and other things I’m sure I’m forgetting. I even had to leave some stuff behind because I just didn’t have any where to pack it! Funny story about the box of Fiber One cereal….B-Fry tried to pass it off to a homeless guy….he turned it down. Guess he’s regular already! Haha. Thanks to all the Fitbloggin’ sponsors for hooking us up!

The weekend was a whirlwind of activities, hugs, pokens, laughs, pictures, knowledge, tears, and fun. It didn’t last long enough of course. I wish that all my Fitbloggin peeps lived within 10 minutes of me. That would be the best. :)

I wouldn’t change much except that next time I’d be more willing to walk up to people I didn’t know and I would stay in the same hotel as the conference because it was a LOT of walking and I feel like I may have missed out on some quality time with people. The time I did spend with them was priceless though.

My major highlight for the weekend was meeting Shauna Reid. For those of you who live under a rock and don’t know who she is, she’s the author of The Amazing Adventures of Diet Girl. And she’s someone who really inspired me along my journey. I definitely have a girl crush on the lady! Haha. I met her Friday night at the social and gave her a big ol’ hug and demanded a picture. We chatted like friends and she introduced me to people which was awesome. Then, she went out to dinner with a bunch of us! Seriously made my life. Lol. I know that she’s just a girl who lost weight and wrote a book, but to me she’s so much more. She’s awesome!

Other highlights:

* Mrs. FatAss realizing who I was and then freaking out when I told her about mine and B-Fry’s engagement.

* Meeting Kenz and having her tell people that she looks up to me. :)

* Kenz meeting B-Fry and finding it weird to actually call him by his name.

* Meeting Tracey, KerriSteve, Jack, Ryan, Tara, Britt, and countless other people. It’s so awesome to meet the people you’ve chatted with online for so long.

* Foodie’s and Paolo’s performances on Friday night.

* Learning SOOOO much during the Intuitive Eating Panel.

* Feeling inspired by everyone there

* Robby telling me my glasses were Lisa Loeb like and then breaking out into “Stay (I Missed You)

* Introducing B-Fry to some awesome people

* Getting the BEST hug from Tara

* Chatting with the bartender and hopefully inspiring her

* Winning an awesome scale from Eat Smart Scales

* Coming down the escalator several times and seeing B-Fry at the bottom waiting for me.

* Getting extra drink tickets with Kenz

* Meeting Emily who lives near me!!

* And about a million other things….

Have I mentioned it was an amazing weekend?

PHOTO DUMP TIME!

Some of the pictures were stolen from Britt, I’m sure she doesn’t mind! :)
