One Month

One month ago I was at a wedding reception with the B-Fry. He was talking to a friend and said “Ya, I’ve grown up a lot. I have a really great job and a really cute girlfriend.” I remember my heart skipping a beat and smiling sheepishly at him. He leaned over and whispered in my ear, “It’s okay that I called you my girlfriend, isn’t it?” I said, “Of course, does this mean we can be Facebook official now?” He kissed me and the rest as they say is history. :o )

Since our first date, things have been rather great. And I can honestly say he has made me the happiest I’ve been in a long time.

He really is an amazing guy and treats me the way I deserve to be treated. He opens doors for me, calls me beautiful, is close with his family, holds my hand, and makes me laugh at any given moment. I tell him all the time that he’s the boyfriend girls wish they had, I’m just lucky enough to have him. :-D

There has been many wonderful moments this past month. A few of my favorites have been rather recently.

On Sunday we were driving out to his grandparent’s house in his Jeep. He had half the top off, the sun was shining, the wind was blowing through my hair, great music was playing, and he was holding my hand. In that moment I felt so happy. Like it seriously brought tears to my eyes, even right now it does. (I’m just a big ol’ sap. :o )) It was, dare I say….perfect.

Then yesterday we went for a walk along the river and stopped at a playground to swing and ride the merry-go-round. It was a lot of fun to forget being an adult and just being kid like.

And who could forget the awesome birthday and a really awesome birthday present.

Everything about Chicago was great too. Even when we got lost and started ‘fighting’ about directions. :o ) Seriously one of the best birthday presents ever!

Like I said before this past month has been awesome and I really can’t wait to see what the future holds. I predict more trips to the park because we should never forget how to be a kid. And more rides in the Jeep with the top off because as he told me on Sunday, I make that Jeep look good. ;o)

He is really something else. And quite frankly I’m the luckiest girl in the world. :o )

Who’s that special someone in your life?

What’s the best date you’ve been on?

All Around Awesomeness

I’m still waiting for the B-Fry to email me pics from our time in Chicago, so my extensive recap will have to wait.

Since getting home from Chicago, I’ve been having a great week on plan. :o ) The 3lb gain I had on Tuesday really kicked my butt into gear.

I went to the grocery store and stocked up on all kinds of yummy foods. (If you shop at Walmart, look for the chicken sausages next to the hot dogs. They’re amazingly delicious. The B-Fry and I have tried them all, our favorite being the monteray jack and habenaro. Soooo good!!) It’s nice to actually have things around to cook instead of going out to eat all the time.

Speaking of cooking I tried out a new recipe. Cross that off my goal list! I made Hungry Girl’s Bacon Ranch Slaw. It was so good! Wanted leftovers, but my brother’s cat decided to knock the rest of it off the table and all over the dining room floor. Haha. Luckily it was a super easy recipe that I will be making again. It was a hit with the B-Fry and my brother’s girlfriend. I love it when recipes are a win!

Besides eating well, I also went on a great run Friday morning. I decided to change my goal of ‘Do 30 Day Shred 3 Day A Week’ to Get 30+ Mins of Activity in 3xs a Week. It’s more realistic. Anyways, I ran 2 miles without any issues! No ankle issues, no IT band issues, and no mental issues. It felt so damn good! I’ll be going for a repeat today!

I’ve also been successful with the eating out I did twice this week. On Friday I went out with the B-Fry and his parents to Buffalo Wild Wings. I allotted enough points for naked tenders and some buffalo chips. Rather delicious! Then last night the B-Fry and I were both hungry and nothing at my apartment sounded good. So we went to HyVee and while he got Chinese (YUM!) I headed to their very yummy looking salad bar and made myself a huge plate of salad and another plate of fresh fruit. Good gosh was it delicious! I believe we’ll be going there again when we don’t feel like cooking. :o )

I’m proud of myself for grabbing the reigns of this wagon and going in the right direction.

It feels good!

What have you done well lately?

Checking In

Well, I’m back from my weekend in Chicago. It was amazing and I had trouble getting on the train to come home last night. But I did because I apparently have responsibilities. Psh…lame.

Anyways, I plan on doing a more in depth post when I have pictures ready to do so. And also when I feel like doing a lot of typing. Haha.

I will give you some highlights though!

*Crossing off ‘Ride the ferris wheel on Navy Pier’ off my bucket list.

*Seeing Freelance Whales, MGMT, and Arcade Fire at Lollapalooza

*Riding the Tall Ship Windy on Lake Michigan

*Going to the farmer’s market before the zoo

*The zoo!

*Seeing my beautiful cousin, Lauren

*Buying a shirt at Urban Outfitters. This was my first purchase in a store that DOESN’T offer plus sizes. Major thing for me!

*The MOST delicious red velvet cupcake at Lolla. This also crossed off Illinois in my ‘Eat a cupcake in all 50 states’ bucket list item

*Spending time with the amazing B-Fry!

Now it’s back to reality. I have Weight Watchers today. I’m curious to see if I gained at all considering all the walking we did. I’ll be sure to let y’all know.

I also start with my August goals tomorrow. Well, at least most of the weight loss ones. Because let’s face it, I didn’t have time to do them in Chicago. We hardly ever stopped moving.

Alright, I’m off to try to get more sleep. Then I need to hit up the grocery store. I have no food!
