One Month

One month ago I was at a wedding reception with the B-Fry. He was talking to a friend and said “Ya, I’ve grown up a lot. I have a really great job and a really cute girlfriend.” I remember my heart skipping a beat and smiling sheepishly at him. He leaned over and whispered in my ear, “It’s okay that I called you my girlfriend, isn’t it?” I said, “Of course, does this mean we can be Facebook official now?” He kissed me and the rest as they say is history. :o )

Since our first date, things have been rather great. And I can honestly say he has made me the happiest I’ve been in a long time.

He really is an amazing guy and treats me the way I deserve to be treated. He opens doors for me, calls me beautiful, is close with his family, holds my hand, and makes me laugh at any given moment. I tell him all the time that he’s the boyfriend girls wish they had, I’m just lucky enough to have him. :-D

There has been many wonderful moments this past month. A few of my favorites have been rather recently.

On Sunday we were driving out to his grandparent’s house in his Jeep. He had half the top off, the sun was shining, the wind was blowing through my hair, great music was playing, and he was holding my hand. In that moment I felt so happy. Like it seriously brought tears to my eyes, even right now it does. (I’m just a big ol’ sap. :o )) It was, dare I say….perfect.

Then yesterday we went for a walk along the river and stopped at a playground to swing and ride the merry-go-round. It was a lot of fun to forget being an adult and just being kid like.

And who could forget the awesome birthday and a really awesome birthday present.

Everything about Chicago was great too. Even when we got lost and started ‘fighting’ about directions. :o ) Seriously one of the best birthday presents ever!

Like I said before this past month has been awesome and I really can’t wait to see what the future holds. I predict more trips to the park because we should never forget how to be a kid. And more rides in the Jeep with the top off because as he told me on Sunday, I make that Jeep look good. ;o)

He is really something else. And quite frankly I’m the luckiest girl in the world. :o )

Who’s that special someone in your life?

What’s the best date you’ve been on?

I currently have no special someone in my life. I’m quite okay with it!

My best date ever however was actually just a few months back. I met with a girl at about 9:30 PM to “talk about a website”. We talked for maybe 20-30 minutes about the site, then proceeded to close down the bar at 12:30 in the morning without us really realizing that time had actually passed. Even though we only sat and talked- I realized we probably could’ve gone on at least until 2-3 AM. (If we weren’t getting kicked out of the bar/restaurant).
:-) I’m very happy for you brooke, but you need to post a current pic on this blog!

I’m so glad that you’re so happy :]
I can’t wait to finally get my hands on that letter of yours! I might have to have someone forward it up to me.

And as we know I still have no someone special in my life…to answer your question haha. And I’ve never been on a “real” date, either. I don’t think lunch dates count…haha.
I was told by my former roommate that I need to let the new freshies prey on me. And my current roommate told me that she will scout some out for me.
    Should I be worried? :-P

    Loved reading this post Brooke!

I am not sure if you’ve read about how I met my husband – we’ve been through a lot in almost 10 years of marriage – both kids graduated high school, he had open heart surgery and THREE knee replacements – but we’ve survived it all.

My heart still skips a beat when he walks in the room! :D

So happy for you, hon! You deserve all the happiness in the world!

I think one of my favorite dates with my now-husband was our 3rd date, when we spent the day at the Franklin Museum. We went to a planetarium show, and after a while, we held hands. So we were in these big chairs, looking up at the stars, holding hands. Cue the Awwwwwwwwww!s!

Aww, this makes me really happy. I’m so glad you are happy and have found someone who makes you happy. :)

Yay! I’m so glad you’re happy — and glad we finally got more details! :D

One of these days I’m going to do a “how we met” kind of post, but I think my favorite date with Mike is… every date! Heh. We always have fun, even when it pours (which is every time we go somewhere), and even when we squabble (we always end up making up and having fun). I love traveling with him, which we will hopefully do again soon.

And I second Michael P! We need an update pic! (:

This is so fantastic! I love love love your blog:) My mom (morninglory on twitter) actually told me to come and look at it=D

My special someone is my boyfriend, Andrew, of a year and a half. We just recently got our own apartment together. We’ve been living together since our 2 month anniversary, but this is the first time we’ve had our OWN place, and it’s wonderful:)

Best date? It wasn’t technically a date, but the BEST one was when I drove 7 hours to meet Andrew in person. We held hands for the first time and shared our first kiss. <3
