I had an AMAZING birthday weekend. Probably my best yet!
Saturday I got off work and was craving a donut, so I headed to the grocery store. I was greeted by the Starbucks stand right inside the store, so I went ahead and got myself a Vanilla Bean Frap. (yum!) I made my way to the donuts and picked up a creme filled one and an apple fritter (my fave). I honestly can’t remember the last time I had a donut, but it was a great birthday treat.
) I also picked up my favorite wine because it was only $4.50 a bottle. WOOT!
I went home and enjoyed my donut and frap before heading to bed for a few hours. Once awake, I went on a mad cleaning spree. Not exactly what I wanted to do, but it needed to be done and I was glad to get it out of the way. I got done cleaning just in time to hop in the shower and get ready for an evening with the B-Fry.
I had bought a new dress for the occassion and couldn’t wait to wear it. (I absolutely LOVE wearing dresses now.) It was a little more short than I’m used to wearing and I really wanted to throw on a pair of leggings, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and just go for it! I’m glad I did!
)
I never got a good picture of me in my dress, so this cell phone one will have to do.
Finally 5:00 came around and I was greeted with my favorite flower as I opened the door.
The B-Fry asked me to come downstairs, that my other surprise was in the car. I followed him down and he opened the hatch to his Jeep to show me that he had bought groceries and brought over his grill to make me my birthday dinner!
I’ve never had a guy cook me dinner, so I was quite excited about this.
On the menu: Salad, Salmon, Shrimp Skewers, Asparagus, and Potatoes. He grilled it all but the salad (of course). It was really hard for me to just sit there and let him do all the work. But I did so while I enjoyed a few glasses of my favorite wine.
Dinner was amazingly delicious! The B-Fry can cook!! After dinner we headed to Cold Stone to pick up the cake my sister had made for me. It was yellow cake with oatmeal cookie ice cream with chocolate chip cookie dough and reeses pieces mixed in. It was soooooo good!
The evening ended with a Bob Marley martini at my favorite bar. It was a perfect ending to an awesome birthday!!
Oh and my birthday present from the B-Fry….
A weekend in my favorite city, Chicago! We’re taking the train up on Saturday August 7th and doing touristy things. Then on Sunday, we’re going to Lollapalooza! I’m rather pumped!! Then another day in the city on Monday before taking the train home. Must say he did amazingly well with the birthday present. I will be keeping him around. ;o)
Sunday we went to the zoo and got quite a bit of sun. Then, we had dinner at my parent’s house for my birthday and he got to meet them. It went super well and my mom adores him.
)
Like I said before it was a really great weekend and I can already tell that 25 is going to be a friggin amazing year!!
Here’s some other pictures from the weekend:
I know I didn’t have the best weekend foodwise, but I’m okay with that. Like I said before, this is a lifestyle and I’m going to live a little when it comes to my birthday. Today I’m back on track and have downed a gallon of water already! I’m interested to see the damages on the scale tomorrow. They probably won’t be as bad as I think.
Oh, the results of my Birthday Challenge:
37.5 Miles!
Thanks to all of you who participate!! I will keep you all updated to how it’s going!
Also, thanks for all the great birthday wishes! You guys rock!!
