FLF: Causes I Love

It has been awhile since I’ve posted a Fun Loving Friday blog! I apologize! Really need to set a reminder in my BlackBerry…

Anyways awhile ago I mentioned Don Miller’s blog about being a slacktivist. I said that it was something I wanted to start working on, so this post will do that. :o )

There are a few organizations/movements/awesome things that I’m a supporter of. They’ve helped me through some tough times and I’ve met awesome people via them.

The first being To Write Love On Her Arms. I honestly cannot remember how I came to find TWLOHA, all I know is that I found it at the right time. I was struggling with depression and all the things that come with that. TWLOHA showed me that I wasn’t alone, that there were many others out there suffering the same way I was. They were there with the support I was seeking when I felt like there was no one else to turn to.

This cause is also the reason I have the word ‘Love’ tattooed on my wrist. <3

The next cause is Letters Of Love. This is one awesome community of pen pals who help each other out when struggling with depression or just day to day life. I’ve had two awesome pen pals from the beginning, Stephanie and the creator of LOL, Elizabeth. I’ve been pen pals with them both for a little over two years now and have grown close to them both. One of these days we’re going to have a vodka and karaoke get together. :o )

Snail mail is awesome! Go get a pen pal!

The last and final cause is one I just stumbled upon one day recently. It’s called Operation Beautiful. It’s a community of people who go around leaving notes to remind people that they are beautiful no matter what anyone says. I’ve recently started carrying my own stack of Post It notes and tagging bathrooms when I can.

Remember:
You are not alone, you are loved, and you are beautiful!!

Now go spread some love!!

Operation Beautification is one of my favorite things. I love that idea. I try to drop off notes occasionally when I can. it’s a beautiful idea. Looking forward to checking out the others.

I love that you included TWLOHA – I feel so passionately about them, and wear my tees as much as I can to get the word out. Thanks for helping get the word out too!
