June! (Updated)

Well it’s June. Time to make my monthly goal list!

May was a total busts. I had ups and downs all month in the scale department. And it was really my worst month since starting Weight Watchers. I ended up losing a little over 3lbs for the month. The pattern for the month was lose, gain, lose, and gain again.

I’m not beating myself up for it because that wouldn’t do anything but bum me out. June is a new month and it will be better.

I have no special occasions to worry about either. Graduation parties were starting to kill me. I had my last one on Sunday and I’m glad to say I made it through 5 graduation parties and a wedding without a single slice of cake! MAJOR NSV for me!! :o )

Okay, onto June’s goals!

*Run Race For The Cure
*Complete the Smart Girls Do Dumbbells 30 Day Workout
*Try Quinoa (tips/recipes welcome!)
*Be Awesome (Thanks Jess!)
*Cross 5 Things Off Of My Bucket List
*Earn 125 Activity Points
*Research Finding A New Job
*Start A Writing Project
*Take At Least One Photo A Day
*Hang Out With Jared More Often (he made me do it. Lol)

So, there you have it. Stay tuned to see how the goals go!

I love your goals! I had a really bad May as well. I swear I gained, lost and re-gained the same 6 lbs all month. It was ridiculous.

    here’s to a better June!

I found your blog through Biz’s challenge! I, too, am on WW (since Jan) and I, too, went up and down in May with a net loss of 4.8lbs. I had been smooth sailing downward up until May. But you know what? You just keep on keeping on! I like your June goals…I never thought to aim for a monthly activity point total!

I think May is just a bad month for everyone due to graduation and weddings.

And you’re right, you just keep on keeping on! :o )

Hey! I found you through Biz too. May was brutal for me, and spurred me to join the challenge. At least you lost weight! I gained!

I see you’re looking for quinoa recipes. This one is INCREDIBLE: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/black-bean-and-tomato-quinoa-238939

Yes it has butter but it makes like 8 servings so it’s just 1/4 tbsp of butter per serving and it makes it taste SO rich. I love it!

I joined Biz’s challenge to get my butt back in gear. I’ve been slacking way too much!!

Thanks for the recipe! I’m not anti butter, so I’ll probably give it a try.

These goals are awesome…as are you.

Quinoa is great and filling for breakfast. The recipe is on my blog but you can use apple butter if you don’t have pumpkin butter.

Also I love quinoa with roasted red peppers, roasted corn, black beans and a viniagrette of lime juice, olive oil, cumin and cilantro. I keep this in the fridge most of the summer for a quick lunch. And it is only 6 points for a huge serving.

I love quinoa, and fix it often when strapped for time and don’t have much of a food budget, a little goes a long way. I use veg stock in place of water and add in onion and black beans. Very filling. I’m gonna try it with other veggies tossed together after cooking since it’s a good protien for me.
LOVE your monthly list, seriously you’re gonna kick some butt.
